Grief is a personal experience that will be impacted by various factors, such as your connection to the person you lost, your coping style, your faith or the circumstance of the loss to name a few. It can feel frightening and overwhelming. It's important to remember that there is no 'right' way to grieve, but it can help to find healthy ways to cope with the pain.
When To Seek Help
Most grief symptoms will start to fade within a few months of losing a loved one. If some time has passed and you're still struggling to accept the reality of the loss and adjust to a new reality without your loved one it may be worth seeing a counsellor to help you come to terms with your loss.
