FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS COUNSELLING?

Counsellors do not offer advice or tell you what to do. I work with you, helping you find better ways to understand yourself, how you think and behave. An increased awareness and understanding of yourself and your needs will allow you to challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviours and improve your mental and emotional well being.

We will look at how your thoughts, emotions and behaviour interact, and how they may be influenced by core beliefs or past experiences. My role is to work with you to identify the most helpful shifts in thinking or behaviour and support you in the process of making changes.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THERAPY?

I provide a space for you to express yourself freely. Sometimes it will feel difficult and challenging so it's important to work at a pace that suits you. It can be about making changes, however equally, it can also be about recognising what can't be changed and learning to cope differently. The session is your time to focus on what's going on for you without all the outside noise.

It's important to find a counsellor that feels like a good fit for you. I offer a consultation session for us to meet, where we can both ask questions, for you to get a feel for how I work and to ensure what I offer meets your needs. There is no obligation to continue after this initial meeting.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

Initial Consultation (40 mins) via Zoom  £30

Ongoing Sessions (50 mins) £50
